Clancy & Theys was awarded the La Posada Wellness Center project as the construction manager at risk. La Posada is an active, occupied senior living facility so phasing was critical to maintain Life Safety and minimize disruption to current operations.
The project consisted of a new 3,500 square foot, single-story wellness center addition that was built adjacent to the existing pool. The wellness center itself contains fitness rooms, restroom facilities, an upgraded pool equipment area, and office spaces. An existing structure and courtyard area were demolished to clear space for the new facility and we were responsible for the hardscape improvements in that area as well.
This new addition was challenging logistically since it was constructed in the very center of the existing La Posada community, directly adjacent to a retention pond, all while it remained fully occupied.
