From the very start of the 1,200,000 SF Dollar Tree distribution center project in Marengo, Ohio, our team faced a tight schedule and unpredictable weather. The odds seemed stacked against us, but we never lost sight of the owner’s needs and our commitment to overcoming the obstacles. In just 12 months, we went from concept design to the first buckets in the ground to a fully operational distribution center. We achieved the seemingly impossible and ultimately delivered this project on time and within budget.
The facility also included 15,000 SF of office and maintenance areas. The structure is a concrete slab on grade, with conventional steel framing and concrete tilt wall panels. The exterior is completely painted with a textured elastomeric coating. To support the facility, there is a separate fire pump house equipped with two fire pumps and a guardhouse. The distribution center’s peak is 48’-0” clear, with a minimum of 41’-0” around the perimeter for the internal racking and automated conveyor systems.
