Dollar Tree Store Support Center and Parking Garage

Overview

Clancy & Theys Construction Company performed construction management services on the construction of the Dollar Tree Store Support Center and Parking Garage. After acquiring Family Dollar in 2015, Dollar Tree needed to expand their corporate Store Support Center. They had outgrown their existing Chesapeake, Virginia location, and required a new state-of-the-art facility to support their growing operations and attract, retain and engage their employees.

Twenty years after breaking ground on the original office building, our team began phase IV of Dollar Tree’s office expansion with a new 13-story 325,000 SF glass office tower and adjacent 540,000 SF precast parking garage. The office tower, which was delivered using a hybrid team-build approach, was designed and built in just 28 months. Throughout the entire project, Dollar Tree’s mission-critical operations were uncompromised, employees and visitors remained safe, and their daily activities were unaffected. The project was a resounding success for all team members and was completed on time and well under budget. It is now the tallest building in the city of Chesapeake and serves as the anchor to Summit Pointe, an urban mixed-use community currently under construction.

This project was awarded the Associated Builders and Contractors’ Virginia Chapter’s Honor Award of Excellence for Commercial projects $20M and over.
