North Carolina Research Campus – Medical Office Building

Overview

Clancy & Theys Construction Company oversaw the construction of a new 63,000 SF medical office building located on the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) in Kannapolis. This campus is recognized for its advanced science, classroom, and research laboratory facilities, and hosts over 100 biotechnology companies. Major universities like UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, and NC State University operate research facilities on site.

The medical office building is strategically positioned to anchor the campus’s emerging medical corridor, facilitating collaboration among healthcare providers, academic institutions, and biotechnology firms. This collaborative environment aims to accelerate translational research efforts focused on health, nutrition, and agriculture. Its proximity to academic and corporate partners fosters synergies that expedite the translation of scientific discoveries into practical healthcare solutions. Our construction of the medical office building at NCRC represents a significant milestone in the campus’s evolution as a premier hub for biotechnology and healthcare innovation. Designed to foster collaboration and accelerate research, the facility will play a pivotal role in advancing scientific knowledge and improving patient outcomes in the Kannapolis region.
