Clancy & Theys Construction Company, on a Design-Build contract, constructed this single-story state-of-the-art cartridge manufacturing facility, which houses manufacturing equipment for laser printer cartridges. The contract also included expansion of Canon’s repair and refurbishing facilities for digital consumer products. The facility incorporates an office area with conference rooms, machining, manufacturing, production and laboratories. The project included robotics and other automation equipment, a clean room with multiple HEPA fans and conductive/chemical resistant epoxy flooring. Construction consists of slab-on-grade and a steel frame with insulated metal panel exterior. The scope of work included 40 acres of site clearing and improvements, with lakes and a BMP retention pond.
Additionally, this project consisted of the complete build-out of the 20,000 sq ft of space which was to contain a Class 1000 clean room for manufacturing. This complete project was done inside an existing manufacturing facility and included, concrete demolition, structure steel framing, high-speed doors, suspended steel framing to support HVAC equipment. Epoxy flooring, high-density wall and ceiling protection, wall and ceiling finishes, new electrical power for project the manufacturing equipment, and an FM-200 fire protection system.
