Room to breathe: Clancy & Theys tackles expansion of the Onslow County Courthouse

Since October 2016, Clancy & Theys has been working with architecture firm Smith Sinnet on a much-needed expansion of the Onslow County Courthouse in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2018.

The courthouse’s operations have increased in the 40 years since the existing Summersill building was constructed and have since outgrown the space. The four-floor expansion will add 60,000 square feet of new space with 12,000 square feet of renovations, allowing for a Register of Deeds office, new courtrooms and multiple offices for County Judicial employees. The new building also will boast a beautiful cupola at the top.
