At just after 3 P.M. on March 16, 2016, the copper cross was lifted and placed atop the dome of Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral. Bishop Michael F. Burbidge, accompanied by Monsignor David Brockman and Monsignor Gerald Lewis, first blessed the cross with holy water, “As we set this cross high upon this Cathedral dome, may we grasp its mystery more clearly and experience its power more deeply.”

Two team members and the six-foot copper cross were lifted in the crane basket and the cross was secured to the embellishment on the dome. From the ground to the top of the cross is 170 feet. Certainly, the cross and dome are visible from miles around.
