On October 4, 2018, the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. Virginia Chapter recognized Clancy & Theys’ work at its 2018 Excellence in Construction Awards. Each year, these awards recognize and celebrate outstanding projects from ABC-VA members, raising the bar for construction excellence throughout the state by recognizing quality workmanship.
Clancy & Theys was awarded the Merit Award of Excellence in
the Residential/Multi-Family category for the Crossings at Oakbrooke, a new senior living community project in Chesapeake. The three-building community features 81 spacious independent-living apartments, 59 comfortable assisted-living apartments and 39 memory-care apartments. The Crossings at Oakbrooke offers one, two and three-bedroom apartment options, providing a comfortable, convenient and active living community that meets a variety
of needs for the senior community in Chesapeake.
Clancy & Theys was also recognized with the Honor Award of 
Excellence in the Historic Restoration Category for its renovation of a 1916 warehouse on the Norfolk, Virginia waterfront. The team converted the original building, which served as the Security Storage & Safe Deposit Co. Warehouse for years, into The Roebuck, a modern apartment building with luxury amenities, including a fitness center, rooftop terrace and floating dock. Clancy & Theys worked closely with the Department of Historic Resources to maintain the historic character of the original building by including a unique balance of historic architecture mixed with modern design.
