Clancy & Theys’ Newport News, Virginia office has partnered with the food pantry at Chestnut Memorial United Methodist Church for the company’s fall food drive. Clancy & Theys’ will be collecting items to fill Thanksgiving baskets for families in the community.
Each year, Clancy & Theys’ provides 50-60 fully stocked Thanksgiving baskets, complete with a turkey and side dishes, to the pantry. Once all the donations are in, Clancy & Theys’ team members spend an afternoon compiling the baskets, loading them into company trucks and delivering them to the food pantry.
The food pantry at Chestnut Memorial serves over 3,000 people in the community throughout the year and provides Thanksgiving meals for approximately 100 families each year. Each Thanksgiving basket includes:
- Green beans (2 large cans)
- Corn (2 large cans)
- Canned sweet potatoes (2 large cans)
- Instant white potatoes (1 box)
- Gravy (2 cans)
- Cranberry sauce
- Stuffing mix (2 boxes)
- Cake mix and frosting
- Turkey (12-15 pounds each)
You can join Clancy & Theys’ efforts by dropping off any of the above food items at our Newport News office by November 14th. Monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to purchase turkeys or other items needed to complete the baskets.
